7-Night Society Islands Luxury Itinerary: The Heart of French Polynesia

Embark on a voyage through the most beautiful lagoons on Earth. From the vanilla-scented air of Taha’a to the iconic peaks of Bora Bora. Choosing a Tahiti Yacht Charter is the ultimate South Pacific escape.

Day 1: Raiatea – The Sacred Island

Your journey begins on Raiatea, the cultural heart of Polynesia. After a short flight from Tahiti (Papeete), you’ll be greeted at the marina with traditional flower leis.

  • The Experience: Before setting sail, visit Taputapuarua, a UNESCO World Heritage marae (ancient temple). Spend your first afternoon snorkeling in the clear waters of the lagoon before an anchored dinner under a blanket of stars.

Day 2: Taha’a – The Vanilla Island

A short sail within the shared lagoon brings you to Taha’a. The aroma of wild vanilla beans drifts on the breeze here.

  • Highlight: Visit a local Vanilla Plantation and a Black Pearl Farm to see how these rare gems are cultured.
  • Activity: Drift-snorkel through the "Coral Garden" near Motu Tautau—a shallow channel teeming with colorful anemones and butterflyfish.

Day 3: Taha’a to Bora Bora – The Pearl of the Pacific

Prepare for a breathtaking four-hour blue-water sail to Bora Bora. Watching the silhouette of Mount Otemanu rise from the horizon is a moment you’ll never forget.

  • The Anchorage: Drop anchor in the turquoise waters of the eastern lagoon, far from the resort crowds, where the water is so clear the yacht appears to be floating in air.

Day 4: Bora Bora – Lagoons & Legends

Spend the day exploring the world’s most famous lagoon.

  • Adventure: Your crew can arrange a private safari to swim with stingrays and blacktip reef sharks (completely harmless and exhilarating).
  • Evening: Enjoy a "Beach Barbecue" on a private motu (islet) with your toes in the white sand and fresh lobster on the grill.

An early morning departure for a longer sail (approx. 5-6 hours) to Huahine. This island is lush, wild, and incredibly authentic.

  • Exploration: Visit the village of Fare for a taste of local life. Take a tender ride to see the sacred blue-eyed eels in the village of Faie or explore ancient Polynesian stone fish traps that are still in use today.

Day 6: Huahine – Secluded Bays & Crystal Coves

Aerial view of Papeete, Tahiti, the international gateway for travelers starting a French Polynesia yacht charter.

Cruise to the southern end of the island to Avea Bay.

  • Activity: This is the perfect day for paddleboarding and kayaking in the calm, protected waters. The white sandy beaches here are framed by towering coconut palms, offering a true "Robinson Crusoe" feel.
